Ozark is a city in and the county seat of Dale County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was 14,907.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 34.5 square miles (89 km²) of which 34.2 square miles (89 km²) is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 km²) (0.70%) is water.
As of the census of 2010, there were 14,907 people, 6,209 households, and 4,064 families residing in the city. The population density was 440 inhabitants per square mile (170/km²). There were 6,920 housing units at an average density of 201.1 per square mile (77.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 64.8% White, 30.2% Black or African American, 0.7% Native American, 0.9% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 0.8% from other races, and 2.6% from two or more races. 3.2% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 6,209 households out of which 26.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.3% were married couples living together, 17.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.5% were non-families. 30.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.91.
