David Johnson’s background and experience in healthcare management for over 30 years have positioned him perfectly for the senior care industry with Senior Care Authority. As the owner of Senior Care Authority in the , David serves communities in South Alabama and Northern Florida.

Senior Care Authority serves families throughout the country through its network of professionals providing elder care consulting and personalized senior placement assistance to families seeking the best care options at home, assisted living and memory care communities.

After finishing his undergraduate degree in Health Information Management from the University of Mississippi, David worked a year as a department head in a hospital and then enrolled in the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he received a Master’s of Science degree in Hospital and Health Administration. For the past 30 years, David has worked with providers, purchasers and enrollees to implement innovative delivery and acquisition models designed to produce a higher level of care and value for all involved. He combines his compassion for people and his knowledge and of all aspects of healthcare delivery to generate solutions for individuals who are seeking an improved quality of life.

Johnson adds, “My previous business and personal experiences with family members who were overwhelmed with emotions and the need to make crucial life-changing decisions without adequate information convinced me that I can and should serve my community in this capacity. With so many entering the Medicare environment every day (approximately 10,000) and the ever-changing challenges in healthcare coverage that they face, the need for people to serve in this area is crucial and I am extremely honored and excited about the opportunity to be a part providing help and guidance to .”

David spends time touring and reviewing local living communities-including assisted living, independent living, memory care, and residential homes. He meets one-on-one with families to listen to and assess their needs. David then accompanies family members on tours of pre-approved facilities, assists them throughout the entire process and follows up with them once placement has been made. He admits, “Getting to know these seniors and their families and then placing them in the right home, is the most rewarding part of my job at Senior Care Authority.”

David and his wife, Leigh, are blessed with two daughters and a son, two granddaughters and a grandson. They stay busy visiting all their children and grandchildren, but in their spare time, they enjoy walks by the bay, lots of gulf-coast seafood and SEC football. David and Leigh are both active in their local church, where they serve as small group leaders, as well as other local organizations.
